The Popular Party was a populist, economically left-wing, third-positionist political party which split off from the Labour Party, founded and lead by Lohengramm. It was accused by its critics of being a cult, and dissolved in January of 2020 by mass exodus to the Bull Moose Party and elsewhere.

Immediately after its creation, the party caucused with the Federalist Party in the Senate.

The Popular Party performed very well in the December 2017 elections, winning "every single seat they had a candidate for" and then later putting Commander Johnsonson in JF-2 and Codegreen in JF-5.

On January 16, 2020, President MichiganLefty left the Labor Party for the Popular Party, stating that he felt it had "seemed to lose its vision and morale". The party would disband just two weeks later.

Party Self-Description
Original Explanation:

The Popular Party is a third-option party that plans to challenge the American two-party dichotomy. The Popular Party is characterized by economic leftist policy with socially conservative values. We value workers, family, and liberty.

Revised Explanation:

The Popular Party is a third-option party that plans to challenge the American two-party dichotomy. The Popular Party is characterized by economic leftist policy and a broad tent social policy. We aim to create a coalition that uses the party system not for selfish gain, but for the benefit of the people. No American should have to choose between two parties, neither of which really represent them and their interests.

Our core policies include, among others; promotion of workers rights, decreasing income inequality, combating the influence and power of big corporations, fighting the climate crisis, and putting the governments focus back on the people.

Of particular note is the change between "conservative social policy" and "broad tent social policy" between the two explanations.

Criticism of the Popular Party
Various critics of the Popular Party have said it "lacked a coherent ideology," that it smacked of National-Bolshevism, and was "incredibly cursed." Of particular note was the influence of Lohengramm as the party's founder and leader. Accusations that he had purposefully suspended leadership elections to maintain his office eventually caused the party to dissolve.

Dissolution of the Popular Party
Towards the tail end of January, there was widespread dissatisfaction within the party over Lohengramm's handling of party affairs. When one of the party's members, ThanosDaddy appeared to be popular enough that he might oust Lohengramm in an election, Lohengramm suspended the upcoming elections on pretence. Documents then leaked to the members, showing that Lohengramm was actively attempting to quash threats to his position as leader.

From an interview with Commander Johnsonson months after the fact:

Lohengramm had a reputation as a demagogue beforehand, and at one point had suspended elections for one reason or another. We already didn’t particularly like Lohengramm, and documents ended up leaking showing that Lohengramm was specifically trying to force ThanosDaddy not just out of the election, but out of the party altogether
We had had enough of Lohengramm, and after we defected he became more or less a joke, especially after he joined the federalists that he claimed to despise so much as Popular leader

Citing their grievances with Lohengramm's control of the party, most or all of the active membership left the party in late January, form the Bull Moose Party in late January of 2020.

The Bull Moose Party was a short-lived populist progressive political party, made up mostly of disgruntled members of the Popular Party, who had recently left out of their belief that it was "nothing more than a tool for (Popular Party leader) Lohengramm to pursue power."

The party lasted for only a week, holding internal party elections and then running in state elections. Though it attempted to convince members of the Labor Party to join them, it had a poor showing in the state elections on February 3. On February 6th, the party dissolved to join the American Liberal Coalition, which later became the Social Democratic Party.
A unique feature of the Bull Moose Party was its heavy use of Press Releases, authored by the party's press secretary, Commander Johnsonson. Almost one press release was issued every day of the party's existence.

NOTICE: THIS PAGE IS EXTREMELY WIP

The Popular Party was a populist, anti-capitalist, third-positionist political party which split off from the Labour Party, founded and lead by Lohengramm, accused by its critics of being a cult.

The party described itself in these terms:

Revised Explanation:

The Popular Party is a third-option party that plans to challenge the American two-party dichotomy. The Popular Party is characterized by economic leftist policy and a broad tent social policy. We aim to create a coalition that uses the party system not for selfish gain, but for the benefit of the people. No American should have to choose between two parties, neither of which really represent them and their interests.

Our core policies include, among others; promotion of workers rights, decreasing income inequality, combating the influence and power of big corporations, fighting the climate crisis, and putting the governments focus back on the people.

Original Explanation:

The Popular Party is a third-option party that plans to challenge the American two-party dichotomy. The Popular Party is characterized by economic leftist policy with socially conservative values. We value workers, family, and liberty.

The party's position in the political center lead to somewhat inconsistent political activity. It caucused with the Federalist Party in the Senate at the very start of its existence, but as time went on, it appeared to shift slightly leftwards (as seen by the differences in its official explanations, which changed from "conservative social policy" to "broad tent social policy.")

Criticism of the Popular Party
Various critics of the Popular Party have said it "lacked a coherent ideology," "smacked of National-Bolshevism," and was "incredibly cursed."

Dissolution of the Popular Party
Citing their grievances with Lohengramm's control of the party, most or all of the active membership left the party to form the Bull Moose Party in late January of 2020.
The Social Democratic Party, formerly the American Liberal Party, formerly the American Liberal Coalition, is a left-wing political party founded in February of 2020 as an alternative to the Labor Party. It covers the wide ideological tent of progressive liberalism, moderate left-libertarianism and social democracy.

In July 2020, the American Liberals controlled the House of Representatives, the Presidency, the Dixie General Assembly, and the Northern House of Delegates.

__TOC__

Founding
The American Liberal Party was initially founded by James Order, John Darby, Bruce Hill, Tedd Ddet and MediocreLucca. These five made up the original ALNC with James Order as the Director and John Darby as the Vice Director. It was created due to the impending death of the Labor Party to provide the public with an alternative left-wing party in the American political system. They quickly began gaining ground in terms of membership when John Darby took a sudden leave of public life. This left Bruce Hill with the position of Vice Director. As they were gearing up for the federal elections, the ALP began making up ground converting current members of legislative bodies and winning special elections. In their most recent election, the ALP won the most House and Senate seats of any party competing even though they lost the Presidency.

American Liberal Coalition
Under a review of the party constitution, the Director at the time, James Order, made amendments to make the Party a coalition of three distinct caucuses. This occurred during the April state election. The three caucuses became the Libertarian Caucus, Moderate Caucus and Progressive Caucus. After the departure of James Order the Libertarian Caucus folded.
First Steps
After LOTRGate II, Valerie began planning alongside James Order, Caprese, Computerguy15, Rincewind and Sandoval the Libertarian Party. It would go against the Social Conservative movement that some believed aided the disbanding of the Federalist Party and would promote socially progressive and economically conservative values. At the time they were created, they were the smallest right-wing party but also the right-wing party with the most power. They outlived their socially conservative sister party, the American Solidarity Party.
