'''Poliman''' is an American statesman, currently serving as the Representative for Dixie's Third Congressional District and as Assemblyman for Dixie's 3rd District. Poliman is on the right-wing, but has moved slightly to the center over his political career. He has remained a staunch advocate of a smaller government. Poliman was first elected to the House of Representatives on April 13th 2020, and has been re-elected twice since.

==Early life and Education==

Poliman was born on July 23rd, 1960 in Jenkins, Kentucky, DX to Elvis Poliman, a coal miner, and Stella Poliman, a mail carrier. He attended Jenkins Middle High School and was elected student council president during his junior year. He went on to graduate with honors from the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in political science. In 1987, Poliman graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law. He had grown up in a small house in the south of Jenkins his family had inhabited since the 30's, which he visits occasionally when the House is not in session.

==Early Career==
In 1992, he interned with his Congressman '''Hal Rodgers''', which he stated inspired him to run for legislature later in life. He worked in a law firm for two years, and then from 1994 to 2002 worked as an aide to Senator '''Mitch McConnell''', managing a legislative department as well as assisting with speech writing and constituent services. In 2003, he was elected Chair of the Kentucky Republican Party for Letcher County, an office he held until his election to Letcher Country Judge/Executive, the highest political office in Letcher County, Kentucky in 2006. He was re-elected to the office in 2010, but resigned in 2012 due to health issues. He went on to start a law firm the next year, operating until 2019.

==Political Career==

In a move to the political big stage, Poliman joined the Conservative party in March 2020 and ran for Congress in DX-5 against Sven Brender and Blaze, where he lost by a margin of 3%. Poliman stated that this loss, being so close, proved to him that there was "hope for success."

After the '''Conservative-Federalist merge''', Poliman became a member of the [[Federalist Party]]. He campaigned to run for Dixie state legislature in the April State Elections, but lost in the primaries. However, during the election, Webb resigned as VP and dropped out of the race for DX-3, and Poliman was called on as the Federalist Candidate for that race, which he ended up winning by a landslide. This win motivated him to run for Congress. A few days later, he ran for his home district, DX-3, and beat Governor Armstrong by 13% on April 13th. Poliman has represented Dixie's third congressional district since then.

Poliman has served as Speaker Pro Tempore in the 128th Congress, and as the House Minority Leader in the 129th Congress.

== Merge ==

On 24 March 2020, the Conservative party leadership and [[Federalist Party]] leadership sat down with each other to negotiate a potential merge. Two days later and after compromises from both parties, they managed to reach a deal. The proposed merge was put up for a vote in both parties, it succeeded in the Federalist party but failed in the Conservative party with 64% voting against the merge out of 14 total voters. The Conservatives decided to reconsider the merge and after long discussions, enough people changed their vote to give the merge a majority.

The next day, on the 27th of March, the Conservative party was dissolved by a CNC vote and the Conservatives merged with the Federalists, becoming the only right-wing party.
