Do you plan on doing anything about Daylight savings, or is it alright to you as it stands?

Why do you deserve to win over your opponent?
No
Opinion on Ricemaster?
My opinion on the former Representative, Former Member and Speaker of Parliament, and religious leader has been persistent since Day 1. I've worked with him in every corner there is. He is a great man, with a strong passionate spirit. His style of representation is unique, and speaks strongly for itself.
Opinion on JHS?
No
Do you plan on doing anything about Daylight savings, or is it alright to you as it stands?
If you're referring to status quo, which under the Daylight Saving Act has been basically gotten rid of daylight savings, yes, I think that it's just fine.
And I'm glad my past self in my very first Congressional term said the same in voting Yea on that very legislation. (edited)
Oh, and by the way.
My opponent voted against that legislation, because of course he did.
As you can see, both my opponent and myself have had business in Congress for just about the same amount of time. The difference between he and I is that I haven't been booted out of my own State. The difference here is that while I've been more or less consistent on my principle of representing Jeffersonians, my opponent has been more or less consistent in getting himself involved in political shitstorms crapstorms.

Why did you answer “No” to half the questions
Avatar
Putbye1 08-Mar-20 04:02 PM
Because that is my position.
Do you have any other questions
Okay
I would like to emphasize on thing in this election: My opponent is a Northerner. I don't mean that in a bad way. There are plenty of good Northerners. President Lamport is the greatest Northerner that I know, and it's a shame to see that my opponent was legislatively against him in his time in Congress. But the fact here is, should I remind my opponent - he might have forgotten - that this is an election for a district of Jefferson. It is the West, Jefferson, that is the subject at the hand. My opponent is, by his blood, his background, and since the first real day of his political career a statesman of the North. He can sprout a piece of policy here and there, sure, it worked for him in the North and it got a few things done - but it takes a person of Jeffersonian blood, a person who grew up in Jefferson, someone who knows what Jefferson means, someone knows what it's like to be Jeffersonian to represent Jeffersonians. The very least you can do is to represent a district from your own state! I may have the unique fortune here of being to represent the very Region of California of which I have lived all my live, and it is even more pleasurable that this most recent district modification has brought the entirety of California together, so that I can now represent my hometown in Southern California! And let us not forget the great Region of Hawaii. They are as Jeffersonian and as American as any of us here. It is a betrayal of the Americans that live in Hawaii that my opponent in Parliament authored, sponsored, and voted in favor of a piece of legislation that essentially said "We, the Commonwealth of Jefferson, hereby officially support KICKING OUT Hawaii from our State and our Country"! It's disgraceful and completely disconnected to what Hawaiians want, and I believe is a strong indicator that my opponent has been - and will continue to be - utterly disconnected from what Jeffersonians want.
Is your name Pierce Bryde? Or is it Putbye?
yes

Should it ever be perceived that perhaps I am being uncivil in my regards to my opponent, that I am perhaps somewhat of a hypocrite in my principle of maintaining civility and unity in the face of extremism that was Poke's communist threat - I want my fellow Jeffersonians to understand my perspective on this race, and the position that I'm in. I've stood for Jefferson since Day 1. We were regarded as the least relevant State. Political news came solely from the Northern State and Dixie - that's where all the Communists were. Even our capital of Denver was more east than it was west. The progress we've made as a State - partly thanks to now President Valerie and other Jeffersonian statesmen - was a process that occurred over an extensive period of time. Who would have thought, that the largest and most diverse State in America would be the least politically relevant? It was absurd, and since the very first day in Congress, I promised to stay Jeffersonian as long as I lived - and never to betray my State, and leave for the sake of political opportunity. When I said in March - of last year - that -
It has never been my intention in the slightest to ever take my political career to any other state in America. My heart is here, for Jefferson, and for Jefferson State alone. I am not a Statesman of Dixie, and I am not a Statesman of the North. I firmly remain loyal to my people here in Jefferson State, I refuse to ever serve any other district or region that fails to bear the shining status as a land of Jefferson, and I will continue to remain firmly implanted alongside this promise.
When I said that, I meant it. Also allow me to quote @Putbye1 in his State of the Commonwealth address:
It was only a handful of years ago that many in Washington D.C described Jefferson as a “dead state”. My fellow Jeffersonians, I can tell you here right now that this “dead state” of Jefferson has surpassed both the State of Dixie, and the Northern State
Point being, we've gone through sweat and blood to get where we are today. We've accomplished a lot as Jeffersonians, and it's a pleasure to perhaps see even more Jeffersonians finally embrace full representation should Senate properly pass and the President sign the Democratic Admission of GASNMI Act of which I wrote and sponsored. So, with all this considered, to see a man from the Northern State who was impeached by his own people, to seek new political opportunity, to dare to come here, to look at fellow Jeffersonians 'in the eye' and say that "Vote me! I am the best option for representing the you!" when you can still smell his stench that stank the North - it is no less than utterly disgusting, and I believe my fellow Jeffersonians will share this sentiment on the ballot.

Question for all Candidates: Do you support implementing a Universal Basic Income nationwide?
Avatar
Putbye1 08-Mar-20 06:04 PM
I don't use Twitter for formal policies anymore, but I think I was among the first to publicly be in support of UBI. It's the future. The question isn't whether to implement it, the question is how we implement it, its manner and within what span of time. Now President Valerie has been drastically successful in implementing a form of UBI in the great Commonwealth of Jefferson - we're ahead - and I give full credit for her accomplishment.
That said, I am 100% for States' rights. Jefferson implemented Basic Income by itself. No federal intervention, and Dixie and the North should be allowed to decide for itself whether or not to implement their own Basic Income, in their own manner and way. But I do realize that if we want to achieve something like an effective Universal Basic Income, to implement it nationally may eventually be a necessity. If we do implement in a national manner, it should be alongside the approval of each and every State government.

My opponent has disgraced this stage.
He has disgraced this State.
Not a single moment of campaigning. Not a single appearance in debating.
I hope Jeffersonians will consider that, at the very least - I would hope that it's a sign that he has made a mistake.
(bro that rhymed!!)
