Should it ever be perceived that perhaps I am being uncivil in my regards to my opponent, that I am perhaps somewhat of a hypocrite in my principle of maintaining civility and unity in the face of extremism that was Poke's communist threat - I want my fellow Jeffersonians to understand my perspective on this race, and the position that I'm in.
I've stood for Jefferson since Day 1. We were regarded as the least relevant State. Political news came solely from the Northern State and Dixie - that's where all the Communists were. Even our capital of Denver was more east than it was west. The progress we've made as a State - partly thanks to now President Valerie and other Jeffersonian statesmen - was a process that occurred over an extensive period of time. Who would have thought, that the largest and most diverse State in America would be the least politically relevant? It was absurd, and since the very first day in Congress, I promised to stay Jeffersonian as long as I lived - and never to betray my State, and leave for the sake of political opportunity. When I said in March - of last year - that -
It has never been my intention in the slightest to ever take my political career to any other state in America. My heart is here, for Jefferson, and for Jefferson State alone. I am not a Statesman of Dixie, and I am not a Statesman of the North. I firmly remain loyal to my people here in Jefferson State, I refuse to ever serve any other district or region that fails to bear the shining status as a land of Jefferson, and I will continue to remain firmly implanted alongside this promise.
When I said that, I meant it.
Also allow me to quote @Putbye1 in his State of the Commonwealth address:
It was only a handful of years ago that many in Washington D.C described Jefferson as a “dead state”. My fellow Jeffersonians, I can tell you here right now that this “dead state” of Jefferson has surpassed both the State of Dixie, and the Northern State
