@Ben, well thank you for this good question. I am honored I can answer it: I believe in a Jefferson were everyone has the chance to become the best their own self. The American freedom is very important and we need people to believe in it. Together we will make Jefferson a place where every single one can accomplish anyone they want to be, by working hard and trying their best. Every American deserves to dream and realize their dreams. Therefore we need less regulations and more oppertunities for those in the weaker parts of society. We should help those with the problems to become one and those who struggle with their pelf. Not with a big government, but a government supporting these organizations who make Jefferson a greater place every day again. Together we will accomplish our own America dream on the behalf and trust from the people, not the government. (edited)

@Luke Luke what is your plan for protecting our air quality? Same goes to you @Emperio
@Robert Sidious my apologies Emperio

Luke Luke 06-Mar-20 08:46 PM
@Arkenstone Thank you! I really like to tell you my plan. To protect our air quality, we need strict demands to those companies and industries who are responsible for the pollution of our air. The federalists believe that a tax cut on current taxes is going to stimulate and nudge companies to reduce their pollution. I do absolutely not. Let me say this, I honestly believe many companies are working hard to make our air more sustainable, however, many companies do not feel something for tax cuts, simply because the investments to get these are not cancelling this tax cuts out. Therefore I think we should do it the other way around. Putting carbon taxes on all companies with any influence on polluting our air. Those with the right vision will reduce these themselves, at the same time it will force unwilling companies to do the same. If you ask me honestly, yes it is a very much in demand and tough question to make this companies do this, however, I think together we will accomplish this and it is the only and best way to do it. Air quality is a priority of mine when I become elected. I am a proponent of sensible air quality legislation that provides tax credits for those who meet air quality standards. Corporations that produce air pollution will be held to a reasonable standard for air quality that does not prohibit innovation. Just like with building inspections and vehicle omissions standards, corporations and consumers must meet reasonable air quality standards. For example, a newer vehicle without a catalytic converter will not meet inspection standards and will be unable to be registered. A building that doesn’t meet air quality standards will not pass a building inspection and will be unable to be sold under contract. This is bipartisan and common sense legislation that will benefit all citizens.

@Robert Sidious How is this not only meeting the status quo, but also reducing the problem? As we see air pollution is getting worse and your plan does not seem to do more for this problem than we already do now. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2019/10/23/air-pollution-is-getting-worse-data-show-more-people-are-dying/ (edited)
My plan, however, is tackling a big cause in air pollution, to be called industrial pollution . This production needs to be renewed in order to meet companies doing their part in causing cleaner air. A simple car will not cause the problem, even though I agree that these examples shouldn’t meet the conditions, mass industrial production does cause the worst. It is were these pollution starts and is created in the first place. I don’t see anything about that in your plan. (edited)

American Air Polution is actually getting better. It is countries like China in India that are producing exponentially more air pollution than the US. We have taken measures over the years with more efficient fuel and energy sources and carbon filters. A carbon tax will put an unfair burden on corporations and give their competitors in China an unfair advantage. This will put a strain on good paying jobs while giving our companies an incentive to invest in foreign lands. A carbon tax is not a fix-all solution. We must also invest in innovation like we have with electric vehicle. We have a long ways to go with EV’s but we are headed in the right direction. Mass industrial companies are included in my plan. They need to meet building standards which include air quality standards. If they don’t meet air quality standards, they do not operate. These standards are reasonable and aggressive. @Luke Luke (edited)

So, you are actually denying in front of the Jefferson public that air pollution is increasing and getting worse? @Robert Sidious https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2019/10/23/air-pollution-is-getting-worse-data-show-more-people-are-dying/ (edited)

A simple google search will agree that air pollution is getting worse but we produce less air pollution. China and India are the primary culprits of the overall air quality.

Luke Luke 06-Mar-20 09:18 PM
How can air pollution getting worse if we produce less air pollution. Did this man ever followed a single lesson of Chemistry? The man is denying a huge problem or making it seem better, just because he describes it to be worser in India? Is that what we want for Jefferson? What if Jefferson will face an emergency crisis, such as a hurricane wave? Would mister @Robert Sidious also state that for instance Saint-Martin has worser hurricanes, so therefore it becomes less of a problem in the United States? What a felon. (edited)
We need a representative securing the safety of his people. Protecting people against extreme weather conditions is one of these. If we want Jefferson to be safe, wealthy and secure, we need to improve, innovate and work together on all cases.

The fact of the matter is that we are on the mend and currently reducing carbon emissions according to the data that I presented to you with. Regardless of the data, which can be contested regardless of the bias, the fact of the matter is that I have a bipartisan plan that uses practical common sense strategies that not only reduce air pollution but do not put an unfair burden on our companies. We both can agree that air pollution is a problem. When elected, I will not engage in petty debates out of sole attempt to dismantle opposition. @Luke Luke (edited)
@Putbye1 my Name, Sexual Preference, and age does not have an effect on my capabilities to hold office. I do not and will not engage in identity politics. I believe people should be judged based on their character rather than the color of their skin, who they have sex with, and how wrinkly they are. Identity politics are a cancer to our society and only causes division. If someone is exhibits abhorrent behavior, I will not blame or give them a pass solely based on their identity. Thank you for the great question. (edited)

@Putbye1 Let’s make me this clear. I am bisexual and I am proud of that. In my opinion everybody should be allowed to be whatever they want to be. The freedom to be yourself and love whoever you want is one I honor as the most. Therefore we can say nothing about this stride, but that @Robert Sidious and I share the same values in this. Politics should be about someone’s quality and competences to hold on office. That has nothing to do with your identity nor your personal information. I want a Jefferson where anybody, regardless of their background, can accomplish their purpose and life goal. And that this never should be questioned nor promoted in a debate about qualities. I think both of us share the same opinion in these, if I may speak on the behalf of @Robert Sidious too?
Furthermore @mk33F16, my agenda is to tackle the big issues going on in Jefferson at the very moment or the long term together. I want to unite American Liberals, conservatives and federalists all over this state to talk to each other. To have a vote in how to tackle the big issues. Now the unemployment rate is the lowest ever in Jefferson and our shining nation, it is time to focus on the newer big issues and one of the highest threats facing our soil at this very moment: automatization and consequences for the Labour market. It is funny to hear my opponent telling proudly about “the family”. The Federalists do support a free market with the littlest to no regulations. Let me tell you I support a free market, however the strategy of the federalists is not solving our utter problems. Imagine John, a cashier in Jefferson who’s life and income is depending on this job. He has children at home, a wife to take care of and a puber going to college. However, John his job will be taken over by computers, robots and John becomes... out of relevance. With the federalists this man is being deserted to nothing. Their little regulations do not secure his job nor do they secure a stable income if the man gets unemployed. Is that the family @Robert Sidious is pretending to protect. my plan we protect workers all over the nation from unnecessary job rejections and automatization, by measurements such as schooling for these at the younger ages and early retirement for those who are on the edge of their pension losing their job, because of automatization. In the first place to protect future families from automatization by providing every single child in Jefferson equal chances by good education.
Students need to be offered a social debt in which the government finances most of the tuitions and students need to pay a single $2000 a year for their study, them being allowed to make a social debt which they can pay-back later, such as for life costs and social life. This debt is valid for 35 years and will then be automatically suspended if the student can not afford their debt. Also, a student can have a pause of 5 years in paying their debt, to give them a space of breath. Furthermore I want to work on the mental health of Jefferson, the same subject @Arkenstone already promoted in his presidential campaign. In these day society it is important to help people all over the state in their mental issues. We should remove the taboo on talking about it and openly share our own struggles if we want too. I want to work together with social organizations and support them in removing taboo on mental health. Briefly said is my plan for America building on a generation of new leadership. We need to introduce a new system focusing on our future and our long term vision. To start with the youth, the middle-class families and providing a fair and balanced education system for the many, not the few.

I am not opposed to automation. I believe we should be investing in more skilled labor. Our current job market is decreasing in demand for low-skilled labor while having a higher demand for high-skilled labor in which many of those job openings do not get filled. We need education reform to better prepare our students for a higher skilled job market when they get out of high school. I think we should adopt a similar model as to what Germany has where students pick their academic path based on their abilities and job preferences. My plan to protect the nuclear family will encourage families to thrive together and provide them with supports they need. Statistics show that children are far more likely to graduate high school, stay out of jail, and earn significantly more than children who are raised in broken homes. (edited)

I plan to abolish daylight savings. It is reported to increase accidents and is obsolete seeing how most farm and construction work can be done at night as it is done in the day. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/01/200130144410.htm
A study of 732,000 accidents over two decades has found that the annual switch to daylight saving time is associated with a 6% increase in fatal car crashes that week.

@April Good question. I honestly do not. Implementing a UBI will not cancel out the costs we do have at this moments and it will demands us to higher taxes. To me it is not worthy to offer the rich for instance $700 a month, because some of us need it. I think a system of help for those who need it is a better system.
Avatar
Robert Sidious 08-Mar-20 06:53 PM
I am not opposed to the idea of UBI, but I am largely skeptical. Some believe UBI would replace welfare and social security. At $700-$1000/month that solely is not enough for your average person that needs serious public assistance. An elderly person who spent their entire retirement on the healthcare of their loved one should receive more than $700/month. Again, I’m not opposed to the idea of UBI. I am simply saying I haven’t found a plan that didn’t have problems.
