Darby was sworn in as representative on November 7, 2019. He was appointed chair of the House Commerce, Education, and Infrastructure Committee, and a member of the House Ways and Means Committee. He has introduced numerous bills to the house, including the Prevention of Marriage of Children Act, which would ban child marriage and give justice to those who were forced into child marriage, the No Corporal Punishment in Schools Act, which failed after certain Federalist Party representatives didn’t see how it was constitutional, and the now-passed Codegreen Personal Hygiene Products Act, which requires all federal buildings to supply basic personal hygiene products in restrooms. When re-elected into the 12th Congress, he was made Minority Leader and Chair of the Climate Change and Environment Committee. He resigned on February 1, 2020 after the death of his son Thomas and left for private life until March. Darby was sworn in as representative on November 7, 2019. After moving into NS-04 in Fort Lee (see Personal Life) he decided to run on the American Liberal Party ticket, going against Doggo and Judge Red. He won with 37.56% of the vote and caucused with the rest of the American Liberal representatives. He is Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee and proposed an amendment during his term trying to officially prohibit the loophole in the Origination Clause ~~creatd~~ by United States v. Munoz-Florez, rather than keep with the Supreme Court decision of closing the loophole in Case 19-11, JMP vs. United States. Northern Cabinet<br/>
On March 17, 2020, Governor Lyndon Garland nominated Darby to be Northern Secretary of the Environment. While he has no background in environmental studies, he seemed to have an uneventful confirmation hearing, and the Northern House of Delegates confirmed his nomination with four in favor and one abstaining. In the cabinet, his department hasn't done much due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic.

==Personal Life== ==Personal Life==
Darby’s maternal side of the family is of German descent and his paternal side of the family is of Italian descent. His wife of 15 years, Jennifer, is of Irish descent and is still a self-employed attorney for criminal justice, and runs a firm of approximately 60 people. His son, Thomas, was born in 2005 and his younger daughter Abby, was born in 2007 and is currently in the 7th Grade. Both are Straight-A students and attend school in New York, North. On February 1, 2020, his son Thomas was found unconcious in a bathroom in Darby's Nassau County residence around 11:00 AM and was rushed to North Shore University Hospital and was pronounced dead upon arrival, at 11:39 AM. His death is considered to be by suicide by overdosing on pills, and Darby's wife wished to move closer to her childhood home in Fort Lee, New Jersey, North, and the three moved into an apartment there, being the reason Darby became a representative for NS-04, not NS-05.
