On 28th August 2019 the new rules came into force. These were drafted by [[Justin]], and were refined by the other mods at the time [[Jet]] and [[Lamport]], and then head clerk [[Barch]]. They clearly defined 4 punishment levels, and what punishment would be appropriate on the first instance of a rule being broken. They also clearly set apart rules for conduct in RP and meta chats.

Needs updating

The Creation of the AGS Rules

During the Genesis era MikeSmith, who was a server clerk at the time, ascended to Mod-Hood, after MaTh and PirateCody realized the need for help on their ever expanding server. As a new mod, he realized the need for a new set or rules. The old rules, which are now lost to time, reportedly had a large grey area on several topics.

With these new rules, MikeSmith and his fellow mods hoped to provide clarity to what was and wasn't allowed in the simulation.

On 28th August 2019 the new rules came into force. These were drafted by Justin, and were refined by the other mods at the time Jet and Lamport, and then head clerk Barch. They clearly defined 4 punishment levels, and what punishment would be appropriate on the first instance of a rule being broken. They also clearly set apart rules for conduct in RP and meta chats.

The new Rules

The OLD AGS Rules

1. No excessive spamming (Will result in warning, channel muting or further actions)

2. No over-the-top use of slurs (Will result in warning, channel muting or further actions)

3. No blatant harassment or name calling. Spirited debate is encouraged but name calling is not conducive to the health of the server. (Will result in warning, channel muting or further actions)

4. No pornographic, nsfw, nsfl content may be posted (Will result in warning, channel muting or further actions)

5. Sympathizing with any current or previous government administrations that advocated for or committed genocide or mass murder on par with Hitler or Stalin. (Will result in either a warning, channel muting or further actions). Please use some damn common sense.

6. Denying genocide is equally punishable with rule 5. (Will result in either a warning, channel muting or further actions)

7. This should be obvious, but I'll say it anyway: Any member of this sim found to be doxxing someone else will be permanently banned. Side note, because I'm sure it will come up: If you're unsure as to whether or not something would be considered doxxing, it's best to just not post that thing.

8. Hurling insults and inflammatory language is juvenile and detrimental to the server. anyone doing it should not be surprised if they get muted. we're here to simulate the United States Government and engage in political debates over the issues. (Will result in a warning, channel muting or further actions)

9. Using the term "Nazi" to describe anyone because of their political views can now be considered a slur if used excessively and targeted toward individuals. Any incidences with real followers of Nazism should be reported to the mods. Stop taking it out on fellow sim members. (Will result in a warning, channel muting or further actions)

10. Voice chat is not an easy place to regulate and we expect members to be mature with each other. Please refrain from using slurs and denigrating other races or sexes in voice chat. If by majority vote the moderation team feels you are abusing voice chat your voice chat role may be limited.

11. The members will refrain from having toxic debate or conversations in the general chat. The clerks and moderators will determine what subjects are considered "toxic". Violations may lead to warnings, channel muting or further actions.

12. Do not unnecessarily ping the Mods!

13. Do not advertise other sims or servers without moderator consent.

14. Do not impersonate or imitate other sim members.

15. Members will not maintain alternate accounts in AGS.

16. All decisions made by the mod team are final.

17. Meme comments or otherwise erratic statements made in Gen RP will be considered for negative modifiers, same as if ridiculous statements were made by irl politicians. Additionally, unnecessary comments such as travel plans or narrative comments don't need to be made in general-rp either. That channel is to remain at least mostly serious.

18. The members will not advocate for Meta violence against other members, non-members or groups of people. (Will result in a warning, channel muting or further actions)

20: No racist or homophobic slurs

21. Referring to someone, on purpose, as the incorrect pronoun that they wish to be called is a jailable offense.

22. Intentionally joining roles that you are ineligible for (parties that you were banned from, multiple roles for the same purpose) will result in a jailing.

Addition to Rule 17:

17.1: any constant use of rp channels to use for completely meme content or using rp channels to completely troll may result in suspended rp privileges.
