LOTRgate

LOTRgate was a political scandal in September of 2019, when President LOTR was seeking a second term and running against Associate Justice JMP for the Republican nomination. After the first ballot ended in a tie, both candidates violated the rules of the election to engage in direct campaigning and, during the second ballot, LOTR gained access to secret voter information (including the votes themselves) and used it to attempt to ensure his victory. Many characterized his action as corrupt. Ultimately, amid extreme criticism, it led to the end of his candidacy, his resignation as President, the resignation of Senator Cabin as Vice Chairman of the Republican Party, and, in time, the dissolution of the Republican Party, which led to the rise of the Federalist Party.
