The Dean of the General Assembly is the term for the longest serving member of the General Assembly. They are responsible for swearing in new members, initiating the nominations period and vote for Speaker of the General Assembly, and taking over if the Speaker of the General Assembly is vacated. The current Dean is John Fincham (GSP).
