The First Party System is a term that describes the political climate of AGS between February and May 2018. It was primarily a three-party system in which the Green Democratic Party, the Radical Labor Party, and the Libertarian Party competed for control over the federal government. Additionally, there was a usually a smaller conservative party that held minimal power, such as the Monarchist Party or the Justice Party. The Radical Labor Party was dominant over this entire period, but the Libertarian Party lost influence and was replaced as the second most powerful party by the Green Democrats in April 2018.

Excluding some tension between the Green Democrats and the Radical Labor Party, the First Party System was marked by long periods of generally non-controversial tri-partisanship.

The political climate that defined the First Party System is generally believed to have broken down in the wake of the May Day Affair and the first state government elections.
