Jed Marshall was born on April 15th, 1981. He is currently 39 years old. An only child, he was born and raised in the former state of North Carolina. He attended North Carolina State University, where he earned a B.S. in Computer Science. While in college, he met the woman that would become his wife. After Marshall’s 4 years at State, he and his then-fiancee spent a year working with the Peace Corps in South Africa.
Upon his return to the United States, he was accepted to the Harvard School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor degree in 2007; later that year, he and his wife were married at the Outer Banks. In the 2007-2008 term, he clerked under the highly esteemed Judge Janice Brown of the DC Circuit; after his term working with Judge Brown, she referred Marshall to Justice Scalia of the Supreme Court, who accepted him as one of his clerks for the 2009-2010 term.
Upon completing these clerkships, Marshall began working in local North Carolina politics, and was elected to the General Assembly for the first time in 2014; he served in that body until it was dissolved by the creation of the state of Dixie.
In March of 2020, Marshall joined the Federalist Party. Shortly after, Dixie Governor CabinFever nominated Marshall to the State Supreme Court to hold Dixie’s seat on the court. He was unanimously confirmed to the seat by the Dixie General Assembly. Shortly after, he was elected to the Federalist National Committee. As a justice on the State Supreme Court, he would go on to author many of court’s majority opinions, including in Raul v. Dixie, Glaze v. Cabin, In Re: Order, and In Re: Cabin.
While a member of the Federalist National Committee, he served as one of the core negotiators in the attempts to reunify the Federalist Party and the Conservative Party, and worked with Representative System, Governor Cabin, and Member of Parliament Computerguy to create the first draft of the reunification agreement. He would later write the Federalist Party Constitutional Amendment that would be ratified to codify the agreement.
During this time, Marshall also founded the satirical news organization the Shallot, as well as the Northern Star, a news organization focused on covering the Northern state. He began working with the Veritas Post, and served as a correspondent for the group. He also served as a proxy representative for multiple members of the House of Representatives, authoring several bills that would be signed into law, including the R.A.Y.B.Y. S.H.A.R.K.S. Act that protected marine life, and the Presidential Succession Act of 2020, correcting the potential constitutional crisis created in the wake of Rincewind v. the United States.
In early May, Marshall was reached out to by Vice President CabinFever, who requested that he become the Vice President’s Campaign Manager during his bid for the presidency. Marshall accepted, and served as the campaign manager until the suspension of the Vice President’s campaign following the dissolution of the Federalist Party.
Following the campaign’s suspension, Marshall sold his stake in the Shallot to the other owners, and sold the Northern Star to Jack Coulter. Though the Shallot folded soon after, the Northern Star remains a strong organization.
In June of 2020, Marshall joined the Libertarian Party. He also signed on with The Public Record to become an election night correspondent for their future coverages.
