The Trash Scandal was an American political scandal in October, 2020, regarding former Senator Trash’s candidacy for President in the November, 2020, federal elections against then-Dixie Governor Sandoval. Trash was selected as the joint Social Democrat, Global Labour, and United Left nominee following the campaign suspensions of Matthew Hale and Dallas.

Northern Network Leak

On October 25, 2020, the Northern Network ran a report with leaks that Trash tried to organize, with leaders of the left parties and various other individuals, candidates from other parties, being former Governor Juan Escobar-Mendoza of the Social Democrats and former Chief Justice DisguisedJet719 of the Global Labour Party to run in their home states, the North and Jefferson respectively, to deadlock the election and send it to Congress in a contingent election. Trash said that “the plan, as Dallas kind of alluded to when dming you, is to have the glp and sdp run their own candidates, then try to make the race a big tie to send it to the house because that’s the only way any left candidate can beat sandoval”. He went on to say to Jet that “you will be campaigning entirely in Jefferson”. Among those involved in the footage were the aforementioned candidates, Jefferson Governor and Global Labour Chair Dallas, Dixie Senator and Social Democratic Party Director Drunk, and House Majority Leader SteB.

Following the leak, many politicians went to twitter to respond. Social Democratic Party Director Drunk shared a transcript from SteB saying that “...the SDP can no longer, in good faith, support [his] plan.” Many on the left denounced Trash’s campaign and refused to continue supporting it, but Trash stood by his actions and said he believed the plan was not corrupt. Jet, who was concurrently a candidate for a special election for the Jefferson Parliament, announced that he was the individual who leaked the recordings. Former Speaker of the House and Senator NotAName announced he would be running to replace Trash as the joint left nominee, and Trash’s running mate, Dixie Representative Kev announced he left the ticket and called for Trash to drop out of the race. Dallas went on to say that she and Drunk were forced into the plan, and called for a total release of the transcripts of events relating to the scandal. Trash went on to announce he would be dropping out of the race.

Aftermath

A ticket of NotAName and former Representative XRT-17 replaced Trash and Kev as the joint left nominees, and perennial candidate Ryan Daly also announced his candidacy. Both NotANAme and Daly went on to lose the election to Sandoval.
