The United States House of Representatives is the lower house of the United States Congress, with the United States Senate being the upper house. The House is composed of representatives from each state as allocated according to the states' populations. The House is currently composed of 18 voting members and one non-voting Representative from DC. The presiding officer is the Speaker of the House, who is elected by the members thereof. The floor leaders are selected by their respective caucuses.
