Lamport is a Republican angel sent by god to bring peace, liberty and free markets to the United States. He is known to wax poetic about his first term fight to broker a cross-party compromise and pass the first balanced federal budget in 17 years: he was elected Speaker in the next Congress. During his second term, Lamport enacted financial reform, passed a Constitutional amendment to ban the draft, abolished capital punishment, asserted Congress’ right to authorize military action and opened Committees to the public. He was nominated to run against incumbent Senator NotAName in the following election and won.
