Victoria Keating is a seasoned lawyer who currently serves as the Attorney General for the state of Dixie and as the Representative for Dixie's 5th Congressional district. Currently, she is deputy house minority leader and the ranking member of the WMBEO committee. She is a member of the Libertarian-Republican Party and serves as state chair of the North. President Bo tapped the congresswoman to be his Secretary of Defense and she was confirmed by a wide-margin to serve in that position.

In her position as Representative, Ms. Keating has focused on reforming and refunding our military services while also passing a bill in the house that protects servicemembers from sexual harassment and allows them to report their stories safely. As Secretary of Defense, she has revoked recommendations for remote learning opportunities at military academies and has recommended that all activities resume as usual. For her proven criminal justice record in the District of Columbia, Ms. Keating was awarded the key to the city by Mayor Elkridge.

Dixie

Office of the Attorney General

Election

Ms. Keating filed for the Dixie Attorney General special election, competing against Former Governor Phoenix and political newcomer Bacon. A contentious campaign came to a close, with many prominent figures in Dixie and across the nation rallying around her bid. The former governor Phoenix was eliminated in the first round of voting, in which Ms. Keating received an astounding 45% of the vote, just shy of the required majority to win outright. Bacon ended up receiving a little over 40% of the vote in the second round of voting, with Ms. Keating securing the office with 59% of the vote.

Tenure

Considering Dixie's courts' idle nature, Attorney General Keating has sought to deliver justice to victims of discrimination because of their federal courts' identity. In a landmark case, Hall vs. Mammoth Coal, Ms. Keating was able to have the court redefine the meaning of sex in the civil rights act, including sexual orientation and gender identity, and deliver a remedy to the petitioner Mr. Hall.

Congress

House

Election

State Attorney General Keating announced her bid for Dixie's 5th congressional district in the federal election on February 25th. Incumbent Representative Miller of the GLP was seeking re-election in an election cycle that was expected to be reasonably easy for the LC. The debate was hard-fought with candidates' trading shots and their respective party leadership, a race that was watched across the country. Many news networks saw this race as a tossup, and it was going to come down to the wire. Unexpectedly, Representative Miller decided to drop out of the race after a complex medical diagnosis, which would've impeded his ability to serve. He announced his decision on Twitter and wished Ms. Keating well on her journey to Washington. With no other major candidate on the ballot, Ms. Keating won 90% of the vote in a district once held by the GLP.

Tenure

The 113th Congress saw at its conclusion only a sole member from the LRP, Representative Wonder. After the shocking federal election results, that number rose to 5 seats for the liberty coalition. Ms. Keating was voted in as deputy house minority leader unopposed and has worked tirelessly to govern in a multi-partisan effort with the LC. She is on the cusp of passing her 3rd bill in a little over a week, proving her efficiency and dedication to her constituents.

Committees

Ms. Keating serves as the ranking member of the WMBEO committee and has sought to directly check on legislation that hurt her constituents and the country. She has proven her commitment to fiscal responsibility multiple times and holds her colleagues accountable for legislation they can't answer how they will fund. The raise the debt ceiling act would increase the debt ceiling and allow the federal government to take on more debt, which Ms. Keating has been a strong opponent. Along with her LRP colleague, she rigorously debates and questions legislation that is unnecessary or does more harm than good. The Worldclass Childcare Act V.2. would require $48 billion in new spending by 2023, which the author could not explain the government would generate. Ms. Keating pressed Representative Moonguy on the bill's details and has urged her colleagues on both sides to vote the legislation down. Discussions on her childcare reform bill have circulated, which is expected to receive support from the President and the rest of the LRP.

Legislation

In her first week in office, Congresswoman Keating introduced a slew of legislation that would address various issues, mainly concerning our armed forces. The Aid for Military Personnel Act was referred out of committee unanimously and is expected to pass by a wide margin on the house floor. The bill would revert the funding cuts to basic pay, allowances, and health benefits for active and reserve service-members. The Protecting Our Blue Falcons Act is an homage bill to the women serving our country in the armed forces. Sexual harassment has become all too common in the military, which the bill addresses with precision. The bill makes it easier and safer for victims to report incidents of sexual harassment and outlines a straightforward process of steps that the Department of Defense must take.
