The Dixie Governor Election of February 2022, was held on February 11th, 2022. The election marked the end of the left-wing dominance over the Governorship of Dixie. James Wonder, the long-time Speaker of the Dixie General Assembly, ran against Secretary of State Joash Trudeau. The election was notable due to the landslide victory for Wonder despite being known as a divisive figure in Dixie politics. Joash received little backing from any of the major parties due to his perceived weakness during his tenure as Secretary of State, where his ballots were either late or messed up. The election catapulted Wonder to the front-runner status for future Presidential elections, where he ran in July 2022, losing to Sysadmin.
Libertarian-Republican Primary
The Libertarian-Republican Party did not run a primary, as Wonder ran unopposed.

General Election
Joash's campaign was significantly weakened by the ballot issues his office had faced during his tenure as Secretary of State. His selection of a largely unknown figure in Dixie as Lieutenant Governor also hurt his campaign. Though he was a member of the Global Labour Party, no member of the party actually verified for him to run under their name, so Joash had to run as an Independent.
The campaign was largely seen as a referendum on President Jeb, and Governor Drunk. Though Governor Drunk was popular as an outgoing Governor, many still opposed him and his power in the General Assembly had slowly dwindled over time with the rise of Libertarian-Republican Party. Wonder focused on Joash's errors as Secretary of State and his perceived incompetence, while Joash campaigned on continuing Drunk's policies and attacking Wonder for his past scandals. The two competed in one debate, and Wonder was seen as the winner. Joash's campaign was hurt when he didn't actively campaign anywhere as opposed to Wonder's intense campaigning across the state, which contributed his landslide victory across the state.
