Epsilon Leclair is an American lawyer and politician serving as the senior United States senator from Jefferson since July 2020. A member of the Global Labour Party and formerly the PSLPA, he previously represented Jefferson's 3rd district in the House of Representatives from April to July 2020.

Early Life

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, he graduated from the University of Missouri - St. Louis with a B.S. in Political Science before going to Washington University in St. Louis Law School where he graduated with a J.D.

House of Representatives

Upon entering politics, Epsilon joined the now disbanded People’s Socialist Libertarion Party of America (PSLPA) and lost his first election, while running to represent Jefferson’s 2nd Congressional District, on April 9th.

He did not give up with that defeat however and ran for another special election soon after and was elected as Representative of Jefferson’s 3rd Congressional District, on April 13th, where he ran on a platform revolving around creating meaningful change for the people, and he was reelected in the following May, 2020, general elections.

While serving during his 2nd term in the House of Representatives, Epsilon renounced his membership in the PSLPA citing a disturbing level of authoritarianism and poor leadership in the party.

As a Representative, Epsilon passed the Affirmative Consent Act that established affirmative consent as the federal standard for sexual consent. Furthermore he pursued occupational licensing reform, which he passed through the House, however the Senate refused to take up the reforms.

Senate

In July, 2020, Epsilon ran for Jefferson’s Class III Senate Seat, which was up for a special election, and won, beating the Libertarian Party candidate and receiving the remaining two months of the Senate term. He was subsequently reelected to a full term in the Senate in the September, 2020, general election. After being reelected, he founded the Global Labour Party (GLP), to help push for the meaningful progressive policy that was sorely missing at the time.

While in the Senate, Epsilon continued working towards his goal of creating meaningful change for the people. As a Senator, Epsilon passed the We The People Amendment, to ensure that constitutional rights belong to the people and not corporations, and he co-authored the Coronavirus Aid and Recovery Act (CARA) in the December 2020 Federal Budget to provide vital COVID relief to individuals, state and local governments and small businesses. He also passed the Federal Economic Security Act (FESA), which established a Short-Time Compensation (STC) program to prevent unemployment.

Epsilon also introduced other comprehensive progressive legislation such as the Student Loan Relief Act, to forgive all student loan debt in the United States, and the Public Banking Act, to establish a functional public bank to serve the people of the United States and particularly those who have historically been underserved such as communities of color and rural communities. He also worked with Rep. Sandra Murphy-Colbert to create the Living Wage Act, which increased the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour and indexed it to inflation (CPI), and was key to ensuring that the inflation index provisions were included in the act.

Presidential Run

On February 11th, 2021, Epsilon announced that he would not be seeking reelection to the Senate and instead would seek the GLP/SDP nomination for the Presidency, which he subsequently won in a competitive primary.

As the GLP/SDP candidate for President of the United States, Epsilon choose Speaker Rose McAlister as his running mate and now faces the Libertarian-Republican ticket of Bo/Ian in the race for the Presidency.
