The Lamport Court was a period of the Supreme Court during which Lamport was Chief Justice. It followed the Jet Court and preceded the Thanos Court. Most notably, it overturned the Jacksazzy Court and revived the legal concept of corporate personhood, overturned the Jet Court and deemed the Speaker and President pro tempore ineligible to succeed as President, protected campaign donations by natural persons under the first amendment, later superseded by the 42nd amendment, narrowed the origination clause to discount the "particular government program" exception and narrowed the interstate commerce clause by restoring the constitutional distinction between commerce and production. Overall, the Lamport Court was perceived as originalist and conservative: taking a broad view of the rights of the people while taking a narrow view of the powers of the government. Lamport served as Chief Justice from July, 2019 to January, 2021.
